What is Tasty Petfood?

Tasty is fresh food in a jar for dogs.

First, we slowly steam the fresh ingredients (meat and offal) at low temperatures. After cooking, blanched vegetables, high-quality oils, and natural minerals are added. This process optimally preserves not only the flavor and texture but also the valuable nutrients from the original ingredients. The finished mixture is then filled into jars. There, the food is pasteurized to reduce germs, allowing the jars to be stored for 12 months without refrigeration. Our food is not overcooked into a solid mass; it retains its tasty bits and smells fresh and natural, without the typical "canned food" odor.

No excessive overheating, no fillers, no flavor enhancers, no preservatives.

The result: complete, natural dog food that is as high-quality as homemade and as uncomplicated as dry food.

How does Tasty Petfood work?

Tasty works in three simple steps – from an individual feeding plan to carefree subscription care:

  1. Create a feeding plan: You answer a few questions about your dog. Based on this, we calculate the appropriate amount of food and recommend varieties that suit his needs.
  2. Receive a sample box: To get you started, you'll receive a sample box containing six 400g jars – prepared according to the feeding plan. Simply open, serve, and test how well your dog tolerates Tasty.
  3. Enjoy worry-free: If you like it, it continues automatically: You'll receive regular restocks at the convenient delivery interval. You can flexibly adjust varieties, quantities, and frequency at any time in your customer account.

What's in your Tasty sample box?

In your Tasty sample box you will find six 400g jars with selected varieties – tailored to your dog's needs.

Our recipes consist of 70% food-grade meat and offal , supplemented by fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs , as well as high-quality oils and natural mineral sources .

What makes Tasty Petfood special?

Tasty solves the typical conflict between quality and convenience: Cooking for your dog yourself can be nutritious, but it's less convenient. Conventional dog foods (e.g., dry food) are practical to handle, but lose many essential nutrients during the manufacturing process, which then have to be partially replaced with artificial additives. Our jars combine natural, clearly labeled ingredients with gentle processing and a long shelf life – all without refrigeration.

This way you get complete food with preserved nutrients, natural taste and hygienic, sustainable glass packaging.

What is fresh food in a jar and how does it differ from wet and dry food?

Tasty is a new category: fresh ingredients, gently steam-cooked and mildly pasteurized, without excessive overheating.

In comparison:

  • Wet food is sealed airtight and sterilized at up to 130 °C. This process significantly alters the aroma, vitamins, and texture.
  • Dry pet food is extruded (approx. 150–200 °C). This requires starch as a filler to make the kibble malleable – meat alone is not technologically sufficient. Artificial vitamins and fats often have to be sprayed on afterwards.

Tasty, on the other hand, remains natural, chunky and nutrient-rich – and does not require a cold chain.

Why doesn't your food need refrigeration?

The key lies in the process: We only lightly precook the ingredients and then pasteurize the food in a sealed jar. This gentle heat reliably reduces germs without overcooking the recipe.

Unopened, the jar will keep for a year – without any refrigeration. Once opened, it should be refrigerated.

What advantages does glass have over cans or plastic trays?

Glass is the safest and most honest packaging option for us: it doesn't require aluminum coatings that may contain BPA, it leaves no residue, it's tasteless, and it can be hygienically resealed. Furthermore, it is permanently recyclable.

Does the food contain artificial preservatives or flavorings?

No. We completely avoid artificial preservatives, colors, and flavorings. We only add what is nutritionally necessary—such as vitamin D and selected minerals—to ensure your dog is fully supplied according to FEDIAF guidelines, the guidelines for nutritional standards for pet food in Europe. Shelf life is achieved solely through pasteurization in the jar.

How long does the food last?

Unopened, the food keeps for 12 months at normal room temperature. Once opened, it stays fresh in the refrigerator for a maximum of five days. So you don't need a cold chain or a freezer – ideal for small kitchens and on the go.

Who develops the recipes?

Our recipes are developed in collaboration with veterinarians. The goal is to create complete, scientifically sound recipes that work reliably in everyday use.

What ingredients do you use and why this particular combination?

Our recipes consist of natural ingredients that are beneficial for dogs – and nothing more.
The foundation is muscle meat for high-quality protein, supplemented by offal that provides essential vitamins and minerals. We then combine this with vegetable-based fiber , fresh fruit , herbs , and high-quality oils to ensure a complete nutritional profile.

The combination follows three principles:

  1. Naturalness: Ingredients that dogs can easily digest.
  2. Nutritional depth: Every ingredient has a nutritional purpose – no filler, no decorative trend.
  3. Tolerability: For stable digestion and high acceptance.

In short: Every component is deliberately chosen – nothing is “just there” to lengthen the list.

What does "food quality" mean for your ingredients?

Food quality means: Our ingredients meet the same standards that apply to human consumption.

Why is the food grain-free?

Many dry pet foods require grain as a technological "glue" for extrusion, the manufacturing process. Since we don't extrude, we don't need starch as a filler. Our focus is on easy digestibility, natural nutritional depth, and a high proportion of meat, offal, and vegetables. Small amounts of carbohydrates are easily digestible – but they don't have to form the basis of the diet.

How do you guarantee the quality of your food?

We work with a certified manufacturer according to FSSC 22000 standards and rely on gentle processing instead of overheating. Regular laboratory and batch testing, as well as hygienic glass packaging without coatings, ensure safety and transparency.

FEEDING & PORTION SIZES

How much food does my dog ​​need daily?

The optimal amount depends on weight, age, activity level, and body type. As a guideline, approximately 2–4% of body weight per day is recommended. Because our food is nutrient-dense, many dogs require slightly less than with traditional wet food. What's the best way to switch my dog ​​to Tasty?

It's best to do it slowly and gradually, so that the gut and microbiome can adapt in peace.

Recommendation:

  • Days 1-2: 25% Tasty, 75% previous food
  • Days 3-4: 50/50
  • Days 5–6: 75% Tasty
  • From day 7: completely Tasty

Many dogs can tolerate a faster change, but a gentler approach is usually safer.

How long does an opened jar of food last?

In the refrigerator: 5 days .

Can I combine Tasty with dry food or BARF?

Yes, that's perfectly possible. The important thing is to keep an eye on the total amount of food so your dog doesn't get too much.

How can I tell if my dog ​​is getting the right portion size?

Pay attention to three signals:

  • Weight: Stable? Perfect. If it gains or loses weight, we'll adjust the quantity.
  • Energy level: A well-nourished dog appears alert, balanced, and active.
  • Stool quality: Smaller, more compact stool volumes are normal with nutrient-rich food and a good sign.

Is Tasty suitable for all dogs?

Yes. Our recipes are designed to safely nourish dogs of all ages – from puppies to seniors. The combination of high-quality meat, offal, vegetables, oils, and targeted minerals fully covers the daily needs of a healthy dog.

Regarding health conditions: Tasty is not a diet or therapeutic food, but a high-quality base for dogs with sensitive digestion, intolerances, or poor appetite. For chronic conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney problems, or metabolic issues, nutrition should always be supervised by a veterinarian.

DELIVERY & SHIPPING

Where do you deliver to?

We're launching with deliveries to Germany and Switzerland . More countries will follow. To stay informed, check out our Instagram channel or subscribe to our newsletter.

How much are the shipping costs?

The following shipping costs apply in Germany :

  • 6- and 12-glass packs: €4.99
  • 18- and 24-glass packs: €5.90

For deliveries to Switzerland , we charge a flat rate of CHF 15.90 per order , regardless of package size. We cover part of the actual shipping costs for you – the remaining amount will be displayed as shipping costs at checkout.

What additional things need to be considered when making deliveries to Switzerland?

We ship our products according to DAP (Delivered At Place) terms. Generally , no additional customs duties or import taxes are charged on our shipments. However, should any fees be levied by the shipping provider in exceptional cases, these must be borne by the recipient.

What happens if I'm not home when the delivery arrives?

No problem. The parcel service will deliver your package to a neighbor , a parcel locker , or a collection point . You will be automatically notified and can pick it up at your convenience. Since our food doesn't require refrigeration , there's no rush; the package will be waiting safely for you.

How quickly will it be delivered?

Once your box is packed, we typically deliver within 2–4 business days within Germany . Deliveries to Switzerland usually take 3–6 business days . You will receive a tracking number as soon as your package is on its way, so you always know where your Tasty Box is.

Can I reuse the glasses or return them?

Yes, you can easily reuse the jars – for example, for snacks, spices, or small supplies. They are easy to clean and very durable. We don't currently have an official reuse or return program, but we are exploring options for the future. Until then, you can simply recycle the jars via the glass recycling container – fully circular.

ORDER, SUBSCRIPTION & CUSTOMER ACCOUNT

How can I log in to/register in my customer account?

You can log in to your customer account at any time register.
If this is your first time ordering from Tasty, you should have received an email from us asking you to register. Alternatively, you can register directly via this link . Simply enter the email address you used for your order. You will then receive a six-digit verification code by email, which you can use to log in.

Should you have any problems registering, please write to us at info@tasty-petfood.de – we will help you.

How does the sample box work?

The trial box is your introduction to Tasty. You'll receive six 400g jars in different varieties, tailored to your dog's needs. This allows you to test how well your dog tolerates Tasty before committing to our subscription.

How does the transition from the trial box to the subscription work?

After the trial box, you will automatically start your personalized subscription – unless you actively opt out . We will remind you by email before your second delivery.

You can change varieties, reschedule deliveries, or pause or stop your subscription at any time directly in your customer account under “ Manage feeding plan ”.

Can I change varieties, quantities, or delivery date at any time?

Yes.
In your customer account, under " Manage feeding plan ", you can flexibly adjust everything:

  • Dog profile, including information such as weight, age, activity level, and physical condition
  • Varieties
  • Delivery date
  • Delivery address

Your subscription adapts to your daily routine, not the other way around.

How flexible is the subscription – can it be paused, postponed, or cancelled?

Maximum flexibility. There is no minimum contract period!
You can cancel your subscription at any time:

  • move
  • quit

Everything is done independently in the customer account – without a minimum term, without hurdles.

Can I order Tasty as a one-off purchase or only as a subscription?

We offer Tasty exclusively as a subscription, which can be cancelled or paused at any time. Therefore, we also start with a trial box so your four-legged friend can test Tasty first.

The reason: Dogs benefit from a continuous, high-quality diet.

At the same time, the subscription simplifies your everyday life and ensures you never run out of food. The subscription is extremely flexible – there is no minimum term.

How does the individual feeding plan work?

You answer a few questions about your dog – age, weight, activity level, special characteristics.

Our system calculates from this:

  • the ideal daily amount of food
  • suitable varieties
  • a sensible delivery interval so that you never run out of food or receive too many jars.

You'll receive a feeding plan that truly suits your dog. Of course, you can adjust it at any time.

What sizes and delivery intervals are available?

Our subscription boxes are available in packs of 6, 12, 18 or 24 (400g per jar).
The delivery intervals are tailored to your dog's feeding needs:

  • every week
  • every 2 weeks
  • every 4 weeks
  • every 6 weeks

How can I change my very first order?

Unfortunately, your very first order cannot be changed.

If something is urgent, please contact us briefly by email at info@tasty-petfood.de with your full name and the email address you use for your account. We will try to find a solution together.

How can I cancel my subscription?

Simply go to your customer account and select " Manage feeding plan ".
One click – and your subscription is ended.
No minimum contract period, no hidden conditions.

How can I pause my subscription?

In your customer account under " Manage feeding plan ", you can easily skip your next delivery or postpone it as far as you like. You decide when it continues – or whether it ends completely later.

How can I adjust my delivery date?

You can find your next delivery date in your customer account under " Manage feeding plan ".
You can do it there in just a few clicks:

  • pull forward
  • push backwards
  • skip an entire interval

Perfect if you're on vacation or still have enough food at home.

Until when can I change my order?

Changes are possible up to 6 days before your next delivery .

I forgot to change or cancel my delivery. What can I do?

Please email us as soon as possible at info@tasty-petfood.de with your full name and the email address associated with your account. We will check if your box can still be stopped. If it's already on its way, we'll find a solution together.

Help, my box hasn't been delivered!

How can I change or delete my payment details?

In your customer account you will find the section " Payment methods ".
There you can easily:

Where can I find my invoices?

All invoices are available in your customer account at any time. Click on Orders. on " display orders n".

How do I pay for my delivery?

At checkout, you select your preferred payment method, e.g.:

  • other common digital payment methods

For all subsequent subscription deliveries, we will automatically use the same payment method.
But you can change them at any time.

I didn't order this – how do I request a refund?
